Cuentos & Doodles: A duck, some colorful shoes, and a new author

Author, Juan Moreno joins us to chat about the inspiration behind his debut bilingual children’s book, El pato y sus zapatos.

El pato y sus zapatos introduces little ones to colors, shoes, and the art of everyday activities in English and Spanish paired with the colorful illustrations by Hazel Quintanilla! Juan found that his past poetry writing helped guide him to write this book, but he found the inspiration behind the story before becoming a father, to his now one year-old. Shoes played a vital role in his life and Duckie became a character that expressed his passion.

In his conversation with Lil’ Libros editor, Melanie Romero, Juan dives into the importance of storytelling during his new journey as a father and answers questions about writing and creativity.
